Rule 6-1004 Supplemental juror questionnaires.

Courts can use extra questionnaires for jurors when a specific case calls for it. This is on top of the standard Nebraska Juror Qualification Form that every juror already fills out. The judge overseeing the case has to approve these extra questions before they're used.

This rule gives judges flexibility to ask jurors more detailed questions when a case needs it. For example, a highly publicized trial or one involving sensitive topics might require asking jurors about specific experiences or opinions that the standard form doesn't cover. The judge decides if this extra step is necessary and what questions get asked.

This change takes effect January 1, 2026.
