Rule 6-803 Repeal previous jury instruction practices.

This rule cancels an older court policy from 1968 that required judges to use a specific set of jury instructions called the Nebraska Jury Instructions. That older policy is no longer in effect.

In simple terms, courts are no longer locked into using only that original set of instructions. A newer version, called the Nebraska Jury Instructions, Second Edition, is now available for judges and attorneys to use instead. This update reflects the move to that newer edition, which people can get through West Group, a legal publishing company.

For anyone involved in a court case, this mainly affects how judges prepare instructions for the jury before they decide a case. It does not change your rights or how your case is argued. It simply updates which set of instructional materials the court relies on when explaining the law to jurors.
