Section 13 Present rules remain in effect

Any rules that were already in place before this new rule was adopted will stay in place. Nothing changes just because this rule was added. It simply confirms that the existing rules keep working the same way they always have.

This matters because it prevents confusion. People who are subject to attorney discipline rules, including lawyers and those filing complaints against them, do not need to worry that older rules were accidentally canceled or replaced. Unless a rule is specifically changed or removed somewhere else, it stays valid and enforceable.
