If you get a traffic ticket judgment and want to challenge it after your hearing, your options are limited. You cannot file most types of post-hearing motions asking the court to reconsider its decision. The only exception is if a default judgment was entered against you (meaning you didn't show up and the court ruled without your side being heard). In that case, you can file a motion to set aside the default judgment, following the process laid out in Rule 3.7.
If you want to appeal the court's decision to a higher court, you need to act fast. You only have 7 calendar days from the date the court enters its order to file your notice of appeal. This is a short window, so if you're thinking about appealing, don't wait. Missing this deadline likely means you lose your chance to appeal the case.
