Rule 122 Effective date

This rule sets the starting date for a new version of Nevada's attorney discipline rules. The new rules kicked in on October 26, 2023.

If a disciplinary case against a lawyer was already finished, or if bar counsel had already filed a formal complaint before that date, the case still follows the old rules (the versions of SCR 99 through 122 that existed before the update). This means the timing of when a complaint was filed decides which set of rules applies. New cases follow the updated rules, while cases already in progress with a formal complaint on file stick with the older rules they started under.
