Rule 243 Appellate process

If you're a news reporter or a party in a case, you can't file a regular appeal if you disagree with how these rules were read or applied by the court. The normal appeals process is not open to you for these kinds of disputes.

You do still have another option. You can ask a higher court for what's called "extraordinary relief" through a writ petition. This is a special type of request that asks the higher court to step in, but it works differently than a standard appeal and is generally harder to win. Courts usually only grant this kind of relief in unusual situations, so it's not a guaranteed path to getting the decision changed.
