Rule 4 Nonjudicial days

If a deadline for doing something under these rules lands on a day when the courts are closed, like a weekend or holiday, you get extra time. You can wait until the next day the courts are open to do that task.

This matters because it means you won't get penalized for missing a deadline just because it fell on a day the courthouse wasn't operating. For example, if a filing is due on a Saturday, you can turn it in the following Monday instead, as long as Monday is a normal court day. This gives people a fair chance to meet deadlines without needing the courts to be open every single day of the year.
