Rule 4:74-5 Appeals From Municipal Court Judgments In Civil Actions

If you lose a case in municipal court on a civil matter, you have the right to appeal that decision to a higher court. The process for doing that appeal follows the same steps laid out in Rule 4:74-3.

Rule 4:74-3 covers how appeals work in similar lower court civil cases, so the same deadlines, paperwork, and procedures apply here. If any other court rule sets up a different process for a specific type of case, that other rule would take over instead.
