Rule 1-085 Judgments or orders on mandate.

When a party wins an appeal, the appellate court sends its decision (called a mandate) back down to the district court. The winning party then has 30 days to take the next step. They must either write up a proposed judgment or order that follows the appellate court's exact instructions, or ask the district court for a hearing if one is needed to sort out how to carry out the decision.

If the winning party prepares a proposed judgment or order, they have to send a copy to everyone else involved in the case. This gives the other parties a chance to see exactly what is being asked of the court and to respond if they disagree with how it reflects the appellate court's ruling.

In short, this rule makes sure that once an appeal is decided, someone takes responsibility for turning that decision into an actual court order, and does it within a set time frame. It also keeps the process open and fair by requiring that all sides stay informed about what is being proposed.
