Rule 17A-006 Commission meetings.

This rule explains how the commission that runs the Client Protection Fund holds its meetings. The commission meets as often as needed to handle its work and process claims in a timely way. There isn't a fixed schedule, so the group meets whenever there's enough business to take care of.

The chair is in charge of calling meetings and can do so at any reasonable time. If at least two commissioners ask for a meeting, the chair must call one. This gives individual commissioners a way to request a meeting even if the chair hasn't already scheduled one.

For the commission to take action, at least five commissioners must be present. This is called a quorum. Any decision the commission makes also needs five votes in favor to pass, meaning the group can't approve something without strong support from its members.

Finally, someone called the secretary must write down and keep minutes from every meeting. These records are kept permanently, so there's always a written history of what the commission discussed and decided.
