§ 111 Title of act

This part of the law simply gives the law its official name. It's called "the Family Court Act of the State of New York," and people can refer to it for short as "The Family Court Act."

There's not much more to it than that. It's basically a naming rule, telling courts, lawyers, and everyone else what to call this set of laws when they talk about it or write about it. When you see "Family Court Act" mentioned in other documents or court papers, this is the law they're pointing to.
