§ 341.1 Exclusion of general public

Family Court can close the courtroom to the public during juvenile delinquency proceedings. This means strangers and members of the public are not automatically allowed to sit in and watch these cases.

Only people who have a real connection to the case can attend. This includes the parties involved, their families, and representatives from agencies that are officially working on the case, like probation officers or child welfare workers.

This rule exists to protect the privacy of young people involved in delinquency cases. Because these cases deal with minors, the court has more control over who can be in the room compared to many adult criminal cases, where public access is usually the default.
