§ 580-713 Record in original language; English translation

If you're submitting a record to a New York family court as part of a support case covered by this part of the law, you need to include the document in its original language. You can't just submit a translated version by itself.

If the original document isn't written in English, you also need to attach an English translation along with it. This way, the court has both the original record and a version its staff can read and understand.

This rule exists so courts can verify the record is accurate while still being able to review its contents in English. It keeps the process fair for everyone involved, no matter what language the original document was written in.
