§ 921 Originating proceeding

If you're married and having serious problems in your relationship, you can ask the family court for help by filing a petition. This petition simply needs to say that your marriage is having difficulties and that you want the court's conciliation services to help work things out.

Either spouse can start this process. You don't need to prove fault or give detailed reasons beyond stating that your marriage is struggling and you want the court's help through conciliation, which is a service meant to help couples work through problems before things escalate further.
