§ 926 Duration of proceeding

A conciliation case under this part of the law doesn't last forever. If both spouses agree to keep working things out, they can continue the process. But if they don't both agree to continue, the case ends automatically 90 days after it was first filed.

This matters because it puts a clear time limit on how long these proceedings can drag on. If 90 days pass and both spouses haven't agreed to keep going, the case is over. Either spouse can move forward with other legal steps at that point, since the conciliation process is no longer holding things up.

If you're part of one of these cases, keep track of the filing date. That date starts the clock on your 90 days, and it helps you know when the process will end unless you and your spouse both choose to continue it.
