§ 214.6 Power of clerks to administer oaths and perform certain other duties

Court clerks have more power than just handling paperwork. They can also certify that court records are true and accurate copies.

This means you don't always need a judge present for these tasks. This saves time and makes it easier to get routine court business done without waiting for a judge to be available.
