Rule 1 Title, Scope, and Authority

Rule Text

(a) Title. These rules are to be called the Northern Mariana Islands Rules of Judicial Disciplinary Procedure and shall be cited as “NMI R. Jud. Dis. P.”

(b) Scope. These rules apply to every judge in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and to all proceedings before the Investigator and the Supreme Court involving the discipline or temporary removal of judges. They shall have no retroactive effect.

(c) Authority. These rules are promulgated pursuant to Article IV, Section 9(a) of the NMI Constitution.
