Rule 27 Proof of Official Record; Judicial Notice: Determination of Foreign Law

When someone needs to prove that an official record is real in a criminal case, they follow the same steps used in civil cases. This covers things like government documents, court records, and other official papers.

The same goes for when a judge needs to take "judicial notice" of a well-known fact, or when a case involves the laws of another country or state. The judge handles those situations in a criminal case the same way they would in a civil case.
