Rule 36 Clerical Mistakes

Courts can fix simple clerical errors in case records whenever they need to. This includes things like typos, wrong dates, missing information, or other small mistakes that were made by accident.

This rule only covers minor clerical errors, not bigger legal mistakes. If a judge made an error in a legal decision, that kind of mistake needs to go through a different process, like an appeal.
