Rule 605 Competency of Judge as Witness

If the judge is running your trial, that same judge cannot also be a witness in it. These are two separate roles, and one person cannot fill both at the same time.

You do not need to formally object if this situation comes up. Your right to raise the issue later is protected automatically, without you having to say anything in court.
