Art V Sec 2 Vacancy in the Offices of President-Elect or Vice-President

If the President-Elect position becomes vacant, the Oklahoma Bar Association has to act quickly to fill it. The President must call a special meeting of the House of Delegates within 30 days after the vacancy happens. Everyone involved must get at least 15 days notice before that meeting takes place. The House of Delegates then votes to choose someone new for the position.

If the Vice-President position becomes vacant instead, the process is simpler. The Board of Governors handles filling that vacancy on its own, without needing a special session of the House of Delegates. This gives the bar association a clear plan for keeping both leadership roles filled without long gaps, while treating the President-Elect vacancy as a bigger deal that needs full member involvement.
