These bylaws became active right away once approved. The Oklahoma Bar Association's House of Delegates voted to accept them on December 3, 1971, during their yearly meeting in Oklahoma City. There was no waiting period or delay before they took effect.
For anyone involved with the bar association, this means the rules governing how the organization runs started applying immediately after the vote passed. There was no grace period for members or staff to adjust before the new bylaws kicked in.
