Appendix I - Rules of the State Board of Examiners of Certified Court Reporters

A. Each person enrolled by the Supreme Court as a Certified Court Reporter - Stenography, shall thereupon receive an appropriate certificate signed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and attested by the Clerk. In addition thereto, each person enrolled as a Certified Court Reporter- Stenography, shall be entitled to use the abbreviation C.S.R. after his/her name, and shall receive from the Board, without additional charge, a stamp/seal with his/her name and the words "Oklahoma Certified Shorthand Reporter" embossed thereon.

B. Effective with an amendment of 20 O.S. §106.4(A)(1) (last amended by Laws 2023, SB 296, c.100, §1, eff. 11/1/2023), eliminating the prohibition against the exclusive use of a steno-mask for court reporting, each person enrolled by the Supreme Court as a Certified Court Reporter-Voice, shall thereupon receive an appropriate certificate signed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and attested by the Clerk. In addition thereto, each person enrolled as a Certified Court Reporter - Voice, shall be entitled to use the abbreviation CVR after his/her name, and shall receive from the Board without additional charge, a stamp/seal with his/her name and the words "Oklahoma Certified Voice Reporter" embossed thereon.

C. No certificate shall be valid for any technology or system of reporting other than that for which it is issued. Any certified court reporter who desires to employ a different system of verbatim reporting other than that system in which they have already been enrolled by the Supreme Court shall, prior to employing said system, become certified in said reporting system pursuant to the Rules of the Supreme Court.
