§ 1303 Service of summons.

When a corporation is being summoned to court, the paperwork has to be delivered at least five days before the date they're supposed to show up. This gives the corporation enough time to prepare and respond.

The summons can't just be handed to anyone at the company. It has to go to someone in charge, like the president or another top officer. It can also be given to the secretary, cashier, or the person who manages the company's daily operations. Whoever delivers the summons must show the original document and leave a copy with that person.

This rule makes sure that important legal notices actually reach someone who has the authority to act on behalf of the corporation. It also protects the corporation's right to know about the case against it with enough time to respond properly.
