§ 596 Disposition of ballots.

Once a jury is picked and sworn in, the court keeps the ballots with those jurors' names separate from the ballots of everyone else who wasn't chosen. These ballots stay set apart for the entire time the jury is working on the case.

This keeps things organized and prevents mix-ups. If the court needs to check who is on the jury, or if something happens where a juror needs to be replaced, the court can quickly find the right information. The separated ballots stay this way until the jury finishes its job and is officially released from duty.
