§ 632 Challenge to panel.

If you're on trial, either the prosecutor or the defense can object to the entire group of jurors who were called in for the case. This is called a "challenge to the panel." Instead of objecting to just one juror, this challenge questions the whole group at once.

This usually happens when there's a problem with how the jury pool was put together in the first place. For example, maybe the jurors weren't selected the right way, or there was some mistake in the process used to call them in. Both sides in the case have the right to raise this kind of objection if they believe something went wrong with how the jury panel was formed.
