When someone challenges a juror during jury selection, both sides get a chance to fix mistakes if the court finds a problem with how the challenge was written or argued.

If a person objects to a juror challenge (this is called taking an "exception") and the court agrees the challenge has a problem, the court can let the other side take back their original objection. That side can then simply deny the facts that were used to challenge the juror, instead of being stuck with their first response.

The same idea works in reverse. If the court sides with the person who raised the exception, the court can let the other side fix or rewrite their original challenge instead of throwing it out completely.

Basically, this rule gives both sides some room to correct errors during jury selection instead of losing their chance to challenge a juror just because of a technical mistake. The goal is to make sure the process is fair, not just about who filed the right paperwork first.
