§ 665 Trial of challenge - Examining jurors.

When a lawyer challenges whether a juror should be allowed to serve on a case, the court can question that juror directly to figure out if the challenge is valid. The juror is treated like a witness during this process.

The juror must answer any question that relates to the challenge. They cannot refuse to respond if the question is relevant to deciding whether they should stay on the jury. This helps the court get honest answers so it can make a fair decision about who serves.
