§ 664 Trial of challenges.

When someone raises an objection to a juror or to the whole jury pool during a criminal trial, the judge decides that objection alone. Nobody else helps make this decision. There's no separate group of people brought in to review the challenge and give an opinion.

This means if a lawyer thinks a juror can't be fair, or believes something is wrong with how the whole jury pool was picked, they bring that concern straight to the judge. The judge listens to the arguments and makes the final call on the spot. This keeps jury selection moving without adding extra steps or extra people into the process.
