RULE 1.170 RULES APPLICABLE

When a case gets sent to the Court of Civil Appeals, the same rules that apply to Supreme Court cases still apply. The Court of Civil Appeals follows all the standard Supreme Court Rules unless Part V specifically says something different needs to happen.

In other words, people don't need to learn a whole new set of rules just because their case is being handled by the Court of Civil Appeals instead of the Supreme Court itself. The regular rules carry over automatically. The only exceptions are situations where Part V of the rules spells out a special requirement that applies just to Court of Civil Appeals cases.
