RULE 1.181 DENIAL OF PETITION FOR WRIT

When the Oklahoma Supreme Court turns down a petition for writ of certiorari, the court will issue an official order stating that the request was denied. Along with this order, the court also sends out what's called a mandate, which officially closes out the case at this stage and sends it back to the lower court.

Once the petition is denied, that decision is final. You cannot ask the Supreme Court to reconsider or rehear the case. This means if your petition for writ of certiorari gets denied, there's no second chance to argue for a rehearing on that same request.
