sec 6.6 Short Form Acknowledgments

When someone signs a legal document like a deed, a notary usually has to add a statement confirming the person's identity and signature. This statement is called an acknowledgment. There are two accepted ways to write this statement: a "long form" and a "short form."

This rule says that using the short-form version is perfectly fine. If a document on record uses the short form instead of the long form, it does not create a problem with the title. In other words, you don't need to worry that a property title has an issue just because the notary used the shorter, simpler wording instead of the longer version.

This matters because some older laws specifically describe long-form wording. Without this rule, someone might wrongly claim a document is invalid just because it used the shorter format. This rule makes clear that both formats are legally acceptable, so property titles stay secure either way.
