§ 131.375 Notification on change of venue

If a judge decides a criminal case needs to be moved to a different court location, the court clerk handling the case has a job to do. The clerk must contact the clerk at the new court and let them know the case is coming their way.

This rule keeps things running smoothly when a case changes location. It makes sure the new court knows about the case so they can prepare for it and the case doesn't get lost or delayed in the process. Without this kind of notice, a case could end up stuck between courts with no one tracking it properly.
