§ 133.853 Construction of Act

Oregon's extradition laws are meant to work the same way similar laws work in other states. Extradition is the process of sending someone accused of a crime back to the state where the crime happened, so they can face charges there.

For someone caught up in an extradition case, this means the process should generally work the same whether they are dealing with Oregon or another state that follows the same uniform law. Courts are supposed to interpret these laws with that bigger, multi-state picture in mind, not just look at Oregon on its own.
