§ 135.325 Pleading a judgment

If someone wants to bring up a court judgment or decision as part of their case, they don't have to spell out every detail about why that court had the authority to make the decision. They can simply state that the judgment or decision was properly made.

However, this doesn't mean the facts about jurisdiction disappear. When the case actually goes to trial, the side relying on that judgment still needs to prove the court had the proper authority to make it. So the shortcut applies to how you write it up in your court papers, not to what you have to prove later.

In short, this rule saves people from having to write out a long, detailed explanation in their filings. It lets them state things simply at first, as long as they're ready to back it up with real proof if the case goes to trial.
