§ 137.155 Level III obligations in circuit court judgments

When a criminal case ends in circuit court, the judge's written decision may include something called a "Level III obligation." This simply means a fine that the person has to pay.

Unlike some fines that go to the state, this money goes to a local government instead. It gets paid to either the county or the city where the case was handled.

So if you see "Level III obligation" on a court judgment, it means you owe a fine, and that fine is going to your local county or city government, not to the state of Oregon.
