§ 137.158 Level IV obligations in local court judgments

When a local court hands down a criminal judgment, it can include different categories of money the person has to pay. This rule explains what falls under "Level IV" in that system. It covers money owed to pay back a reward that was offered under a different law, ORS 131.897.

In simple terms, sometimes a reward is offered to help solve a crime, like a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest. If someone is convicted and the court decides they need to repay that reward money, this is the category that payment falls under in the judgment. It gets labeled and tracked separately from other fines, fees, or restitution the person might owe.

For someone going through the court process, this rule mostly matters for how the paperwork classifies what they owe. It does not create a new payment on its own. It simply tells the court which category to use when reward reimbursement is part of the sentence.
