If you own property with other people and want to split it up through court, you can file a partition action. You do not need all the other owners to agree to file; even one owner can start the case alone.

Everyone else who owns a share of the property must be included in the lawsuit as a defendant. This makes sure all owners have a chance to participate and have their ownership rights protected during the process.
