Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)
This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
Some older Pennsylvania laws about specific topics stay in effect even though these court rules exist. The court rules do not cancel or change those laws.
The two laws that remain untouched deal with very specific subjects covered by earlier Acts of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. One was passed in 1931 and the other in 1983. Both continue to apply the same way they always have.
If one of those laws affects your case, you need to look up the full text of that law separately. This rule simply makes clear that these court procedures do not override them.
