Rule 3212 Evidence as to value

When the sheriff sets a value for property in a case, that number is the starting point. The court treats it as the official value unless someone proves otherwise.

If you are involved in the case, you have the right to challenge that number. At a hearing or trial, any party can bring in evidence to show the property is worth more or less than what the sheriff said.
