Rule 3254 Praecipe for writ of possession

When you win a court case that gives you the right to take possession of property, you need to formally ask the court to issue a "writ of possession." This is the official document that allows you to actually take back the property.

To make that request, you file a short form called a praecipe. The form is simple and just tells the court clerk to issue the writ. You sign it as the plaintiff or through your attorney.

There is one exception to this process. If the judgment was entered by confession in an ejectment case, a different rule (Rule 2974.1) applies instead.
