Rule 24 Application of Rules

This rule explains when the ADR rules actually start applying to a case. If you file a case in circuit court or family court, these rules only kick in once the Supreme Court has officially said your county or court needs to follow them. The rules apply going forward from that date, not to cases that were already filed before it.

In simple terms, this means not every county uses these rules right away. The Supreme Court has to issue an order naming a specific county or court before people filing cases there have to follow the ADR process. If your case was filed before your county was named, these particular rules would not apply to your case.
