Rule 39 Rules Repealed

This rule clears out the old criminal procedure rules that South Carolina courts used before. Once these new Rules of Criminal Procedure took effect, every previous rule on the books got canceled at the same time.

The point is to avoid confusion. Instead of having old and new rules floating around together, this rule makes it clear that the new set fully replaces what came before. Anyone working with a criminal case only needs to look at the current rules, not old versions that no longer apply.
