Rule 312 On Appeal from Justice Court

When a case starts in a justice court and someone appeals it to a higher court, the higher court takes over once it makes a decision. If you win in the county or district court after an appeal, that court handles collecting on the judgment, not the original justice court.

This means the justice court is out of the picture once the appeal is decided. Any steps to enforce the judgment, like collecting money owed, go through the county or district court that heard the appeal.
