Rule 597 Duty of Officer

When a sheriff or constable receives a writ of attachment, they must act right away. They cannot wait or delay.

Their job is to seize enough of the defendant's property to cover what the writ requires. The property must be located in the officer's county and must be the kind of property that can legally be taken under the writ.
