Rule 624 On Death of Nominal Plaintiff

Sometimes a lawsuit is filed in one person's name, but the real benefit of the case goes to someone else. If the person named in the judgment dies after the court rules in their favor, the case does not stop there.

The person who was actually supposed to benefit from the lawsuit can still collect the money. They just need to file a sworn statement with the court clerk confirming that the named person has died. After that, the court can issue an order to collect the judgment using the name of the person who the lawsuit was really meant to help.
