Rule 786 Warrantor, Etc., May Be Made a Party

If someone is being sued over a piece of land, the actual owner or the person who guaranteed the title can step in and join the lawsuit as a defendant. They do not have to wait to be asked — they can add themselves to the case.

Once they join, they have the same rights as if they had been named in the lawsuit from the very beginning. This means they can present any defense they want, just like the original defendant could.
