Rule 56 When Court Is Open

The Superior Court is treated as always open. This means you can file papers, ask for orders, or start legal processes at any time, even outside normal business hours. The court doesn't shut down in a legal sense just because it's night or a weekend.

That said, the clerk's office itself follows a regular schedule. It must stay open during normal business hours every weekday, but it closes on Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. This is the office where you'd actually go to file documents or get help with paperwork in person.

If needed, the Presiding Judge or Chief Justice can change this schedule. They have the power to order the clerk's office to open for specific hours even on a Saturday or holiday, if there's a reason to do so. This gives the court some flexibility to handle urgent situations without waiting until the next business day.
