Rule 315 Oath of Office.

When someone is appointed as a magistrate judge, they must take an oath before they can start doing the job. This is the exact same oath that regular Superior Court judges take. There's no separate or different oath just for magistrate judges.

The idea behind this is simple. Magistrate judges handle real cases and make real decisions that affect people's lives, so they need to make the same formal promise that other judges make. Taking this oath is a required step that must happen before the magistrate judge can begin hearing cases or exercising any judicial authority.
