Rule 1.8 Quorum

The Judicial Investigation Commission needs at least five members present to conduct official business. Without this minimum number of people in the room, the group cannot make decisions or take formal action.

When the Commission does have enough members present to act, it makes decisions based on a majority vote. This means more than half of the members who are present and actually voting must agree before the Commission can take any action. Members who are absent, or who are present but don't vote, don't count toward this majority.

This rule matters because it sets the basic ground rules for how the Commission operates.
